Someone should know about this . . .

One of my besetting sins is what should probably be called a variety of gossiping. I'll run across a blog or an article or just some little tidbit of knowledge and will be utterly convinced that "John Smith" really needs to know about this or Sally Doe needs to know what is being said over there.

And there are times when I really, really REALLY do not want to know some of the things I know (from having been on leadership committees and from having been in healthcare for almost 25 years). It would relieve a burden if I could share some of these things.

But the great majority of the time I really don't *need* to share any of it and sometimes I just, simply, should not.

For instance, I still check the blog of a seminary professor who is a feminist. I won't even tell you if this seminary professor is a man or a woman so you won't be tempted to try and figure out who it is. It will suffice if you know there is great irony being presented there - this professor thinks some are not careful with, "the treasures of orthodoxy" - that and some of the other points made in the post are richly ironic coming from a feminist who denies the treasure historic Christian teaching has bequeathed us in terms of sexual orthodoxy, isn't it?

But I already know this professor is a feminist - what more need I know?

perhaps you need to know that not everyone who disagrees with you is a "horrible 'feminist'". :)

Ah yes, it's all a question of personal disagreements. Not at all a question of a direct command from God, His order of creation, or His Divine prohibitions, right Mr. Anonymous?

"Hath God truly said?" hisses the Serpent.

You see, Kamilla, all you have to do is preface your biblical statements about the doctrine of sexuality taught in the Word of God with "Personally, I believe..." and then you'll fit in quite well.

You think this and they believe that and there's enough room for all of us to have our personal beliefs and get along with each other.

Horrible is your word, Anonymous, not mine.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who disagree with Kamilla who aren't even the non-horrible type of feminist. (There may be some polygamists who disagree with her, for example.)

> some are not careful with, "the treasures of orthodoxy"

Well, I'm real curious what orthodox thing he/she is so concerned isn't being treasured.

LOL Perhaps, I should correct that and say that not everyone who disagrees with Kamilla is a "hissing serpent", a non horrible feminist or even a feminist, or a polygamist or one who is not treasuring the orthodox word of God.

Anonymous,

Nice try, but still no cigar. The professor in question is a valid target for derision and could even be called a "hissing serpent" - precisely for being a religious feminist and therefor, one who despises the treasures of orthodoxy.

If you have an actual argument to make, please do so. Otherwise, there's no need for further response as I already know you disagree with me.

No one has any way of confirming these statements without reading what the supposed "religious feminist" has said. You could be making all this up out of thin air just to create a "valid" target for derision.

I'm not sure that there is such a thing as valid derision for Christians toward people. I usually consider Christian valid derision as laughing at the puppy's antics or some such.

BTW, this is an excellent bit of poetry.

Cold-hearted orb that rules the night, removes the color from our sight. Red is grey and yellow white, and who knows which is right, and which is an illusion...

May I ask where it is quoted from. It almost sounds familiar.

I just Googled it and got "The Moody Blues"

Thanks Michael, here it is. I wonder what year that was written in. Looks like around the 60's-70's

Late Lament

Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room
Bedsitter people look back and lament
Another day's useless energy spent

Impassioned lovers wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love and has none
New mother picks up and suckles her son
Senior citizens wish they were young

Cold hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colours from our sight
Red is grey and yellow, white
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion

Kamilla, I find it interesting that you are not willing to support your criticisms with facts. But of course, it is your reputation and you can do that if you wish.

See you around,

Anonymous,

For my part, I find it curious that someone who is too cowardly to own their words would express any interest in someone else's reputation.

Don't bother about my reputation - it is the least of my worries.

It may not be the least of worries, Kamilla. Your reputation has become like that of the Bayly Brothers, which is really rather poor, even among the CBMW group.

And frankly I would like to see you do better.

Now you're just being silly. If you've got something of substance to say that you don't want to own publicly, you are welcome to contact me privately via the email link on my profile page.

Actually, it would be silly for me to contact you privately about anything of real worth. Your reputation is that anyone you don't like who contacts you privately, you share those private discussions with others on the net and make a mockery of them.

So you see, reputation can count for something.

At any rate, the only reason I said anything is because I would like to check the facts on whether the person you are bad mouthing is actually a dreadful "feminist" and whether or not they have actually done the things you say. A simple name, so that I can check out the facts.

Now that I know from whence your concern for my "reputation" likely springs, I am even less concerned than I was inclined to be before.

Thanks for the laugh/

No you do not know. I'm not the person that you did that to. But I have indeed heard about that and other things you have done.

So, keep laughing while you harm others. I'll understand.
