And she has a great personality . . .
Meet Kamilla the Fruit Bat. Kinda cute, isn't she? She is one of the largest bats in the world, having a wingspan of around 5 feet, and loves to be fed by her handlers. She's a very healthy girl - she really does eat fruit!
I am liking bats more and more. I had a book, when the kids were little called "Stella Luna". It was about a fruit bat that got lost and adopted by a bird family (kind of like "Are You My Mother" of our generation).
Yes, Rachel, it really is Kamilla - that's why I thought it was so funny.
A Co-worker of mine was at the Wildlife Experience with her grandson this past weekend and the bats were there. When she heard this one was named Kamilla, she took a picture to show me. Unfortunately, I didn't find out until they were already gone. But the Wildlife people did send me a link (where I got the picture).
She's part of a bat conservation project. And I could adopt her for $500.

Is this bat's name really Kamilla?
